Are not-for-profit companies or crown corporations eligible to act as industry partner on a Voucher for Innovation and Productivity I (VIP I) application?

These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please check with your OCE Business Development Manager before applying. In general:

• at least part of the organization’s revenue must come from non-governmental sources. For government-funded organizations, only cash put in by the organization (from non-government sources) is eligible as a match for OCE funding. In-kind would not be eligible (i.e., the organization will need to match 1:1 in cash).
• the organization must have the mandate/ability to commercialize/develop innovations and should not be simply a user of the technology.

For NSERC-partnered projects, the applicants should first contact NSERC to confirm eligibility of the organization.
