What metrics do I have to report on?

When completing a project Final Report, both applicant organizations and project partner organizations assigned to a project are required to report on metrics.

In addition to Final Reports, if the project continues beyond OCE’s fiscal year end (March 31), the applicant company will be required to complete an annual metrics survey each April for the part of the project that has been completed since the previous March 31.

The types of metrics required for reporting vary per program but, as a generalized list, both applicants and project partners are required to report the following metrics during project reporting:

Metrics Measured Example Metrics
Commercialization Outputs
  • Products developed/launched
  • Services developed/launched
  • Processes developed/launched
Innovation Outputs
  • Peer-reviewed publications submitted/published
  • Patent applications submitted/granted
Economic Outcomes
  • Number of new jobs created/retained
  • Number of new customers secured
  • Incremental sales ($) generated
  • Follow-on investment secured

To see a detailed breakdown of the reporting requirements, please visit the “Project Changes and Reporting Requirements” section located on the program page of OCE’s website.
