Industry partners are required to pay HST on a remittance because OCI is required by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to collect Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) on industry contributions.
Please note that HST is often recoverable as an HST rebate/credit if the company is registered for HST having an active CRA HST number.
